JAMES P. THOMASAUTHORJames Thomas was born and raised in New York City, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Growing up in Amsterdam Houses (a New York City Housing Authority [NYCHA]), he developed a fascination for the game of basketball.
His experience and passion for the sport allowed him to learn leadership, organizational, decision-making, and mental tenacity skills through competing on Amateur Athletic Union, High School, and College-level teams. These very skills have also allowed him to successfully mentor youth and create a bridge to help those who have experienced or are currently experiencing the same challenges James faced as an adolescent. |
